Description

Explore the story of Jesus raising Lazarus in this complete Messy Church session based on John 11:38–44. Through hands-on activities, prayer, storytelling, worship, and conversation, participants of all ages will discover that Jesus’ life-giving light is stronger than darkness, fear, grief, and even death. The session also invites the community to consider how we can help “unbind” one another from worry, loneliness, and other burdens.

Your purchase includes two versions of the session:

• A Halloween-season version that connects the Lazarus story with familiar images of darkness, costumes, and spooky things.
• A non-Halloween version that explores the same biblical story and message without framing the gathering around Halloween.

Churches can choose the version that best fits their theology, traditions, and community. Both include a Bible reflection for leaders, twelve creative activities with talking points, a participatory celebration outline, prayer, song and meal suggestions, table-talk questions, and printable activity signs.
