Introducing the Writing Team
We are excited for you to meet the small but mighty Writing team. We met for the first time in late January 2021. The members of the team are all ambassadors for MC USA. Our ambassadors promote, encourage and support the development of Messy Churches of all Christian traditions in the USA.
The writing team is meeting the goals set forth from the beginning: to produce blog posts and other newsletter items for the Messy Church USA newsletter/website, create stand alone Messy Sessions specifically for the context of the USA, and look at opportunities to publish print and online material to highlight Messy Church USA. They work closely with the communication team and training team and are hard at work creating a special Messy Session that will be highlighted at the (RE)START MESSY training on October 23,2021.
Welcome the Team!

Jillian Mayer
I’m so happy to serve as an ambassador for Messy Church because I absolutely love Messy Church! I’ve seen firsthand how great it can be at drawing people of all ages together and helping them to grow in their faith. I have yet to find another program that offers the potential for intergenerational faith development that Messy Church does. I choose to serve on the writing team because I really want to help equip Messy Churches throughout our country by providing resources that make Messy Church even more accessible. I know firsthand how much work running a Messy Church takes; I hope that by working on the writing team I can help lighten the load for all the amazing people out there working every day to spread the light of Jesus through Messy Church.

Leyla Wagner
I’m a Messy Church USA Ambassador because I love all things Messy and want to share this amazing story – God’s story – in a new and exciting way. I’m passionate about writing session material for Messy Church because I’ve helped lead a Messy Church since 2013, when resources were limited, and know how much time it can take to plan a session from scratch or adapt a session to fit your context. I’m excited to write session material that will provide support and help sustain Messy Churches of all shapes and sizes.

Messy Church made such a difference at Aldersgate that Johannah couldn’t help but tell everyone about how awesome Messy Church is!
