From: Messy Church USA Board of Directors
After serving since July 2017 with unwavering dedication and commitment, Rev. Roberta Jantzi Egli both founder and Administrative Director at Messy Church USA, has announced retirement effective March 31, 2026. Roberta significantly contributed to strategic initiatives, including the organization and development of Messy Church USA, online offerings through the pandemic, writing a monthly blog, working with others to develop and revise training material to enable Messy Churches to start and connect, and cultivating new leaders. These accomplishments fostered the growth to over 200 network Messy Church members throughout the USA.
Roberta’s leadership fostered a culture of collaboration and excellence both at Messy Church USA and with the colleagues and friendships formed across the world. Working with a small team to form a partnership with the global home of Messy Church, Bible Reading Fellowship, was the first task of forming the 501c3 nonprofit organization. Her passion, insights and guidance have played a pivotal role in shaping the vision of Messy Church for the future. We extend our heartfelt gratitude for her service and wish her a fulfilling retirement filled with new messy adventures and opportunities.
The retirement announcement of Administrative Director, Roberta Jantzi Egli, marks a significant transition for the organization, reflecting over years of invaluable contributions. Roberta will work closely with the strong Messy Church USA board as well as the current staff team over the next months to ensure that this transition process supports the future growth of Messy Church USA. From the beginning of the organization, the mission of Messy Church USA has been to equip Messy Churches to start, sustain and connect in the USA. This unwavering mission will serve as a north star guide in this time of change.
