March Messy Church USA Opportunities
Has March arrived as a lion or a lamb in your area of the country. I remember that saying from when I was a young girl and it never made any sense. In Eugene, OR there are yellow crocus and daffodils beginning to bloom even though our nights are below freezing. We have had a rare small amount of snow in the morning. No matter what the weather, we are excited to share opportunities to learn, connect and share your Messy Church ideas.
Get Started In Messy Church Training
There is still time to register for the in person training event this month. Ronda Bower, our Messy Church USA Board president is leading this training at United in Faith Lutheran Church in Chicago, IL from 9 am -3 pm on Saturday March 11th.
Online Webinars
- March 8th at noon Pacific: Intergenerational Worship sponsored by Music Makes Community (MMC). The 90-minute online gathering will be convened by MMC Board member Breen Sipes and Executive Director Paul Vasile, who have invited Sarah Bentley Allred and Roberta Egli and participants to share songs and practices that engage the body, mind and spirit. Together we’ll reflect on how we build congregational culture and think holistically about how we make worship a space that welcomes the voices, bodies, and experiences of all ages. Register Here
- March 3- 31: Innovative ways to Finance your Messy Church: Rev Dr Andrew Scanlan Holmes helps churches think through what financial resources are needed to start and sustain a local Messy Church. He then gives ideas of creative ways to find those resources. This is a great video for Messy Churches just starting out or for those who have struggled a bit with finances. The live zoom conversation is scheduled for Thursday, March 30th at 1 pm (Pacific). Register Here
- March 21: Messy Zoom Conversation at 1 pm (Pacific): Connect with Messy Church leaders throughout the USA to share ideas and resources for Holy Week and Easter Messy Church. Messy Church Prayer *
Holy Spirit of God, whose energy and gifts equip us to share the good news of Jesus, strengthen local Messy Church teams as they plan their services, granting them ideas for activities, inspiration for celebrations and grace for the welcome and the meal, so that children and adults might be drawn into a community of faith, hope and love, centered on Christ.
Amen
