Part III of IV
Messy Church USA is reflecting back and looking forward as we seek to fulfill our mission to equip Messy Churches in the USA to start, sustain and connect. Throughout the month of December, we will CELEBRATE that even in the midst of the uncertainty of a global pandemic, we have experienced many good things! We CELEBRATE that we have experienced God’s movement in and through our work this past year and we place our trust in God as we move beyond 2020 into 2021. This week we CELEBRATE how we are connecting Messy Churches across the USA.
Celebrate 2020: Connecting Messy Churches
- Messy Church Town Halls began in 2020 due to a need to reach out and connect with one another in the confusion created by the pandemic. In our three free town hall events, we learned from each other, encouraged each other and joined with Messy Church founder Lucy Moore in November to hear the global connection stories. In addition, we joined and led a few of the weekly Messy Church Live Facebook events sponsored by Bible Reading Fellowship in the UK.
- On Ascension Day, May 21, 2020, we joined with the global Messy Church movement and set out on the speediest round-the-world trip ever. It was time to celebrate the amazing international Messy Church community and to bring a little joy to the day. We set sail (virtually), took off (in our imaginations) and revved our (digital) engines for a whole day of Mess! Messy Church USA provided content for Journey to the Jordan as we focused on the waters of baptism and Journey to the Hillside to reflect on the sermon on the mount. You can travel around the world by catching all the videos here.
- We celebrate the growing presence on our Messy Church USA social media platforms that connect us to one another. Have you joined the Messy Church USA team leaders group page? Currently there are 245 Messy leaders across the USA (and a few from beyond the USA) who share ideas, challenges, little and big successes and ask each other messy advice. Connecting with other Messy leaders has been vital to our emotional, physical and spiritual health during this pandemic time. Join us Here.
What are you celebrating as 2020 comes to a close? We invite you to celebrate with us! We need your prayers, stories, ideas, and financial support. Celebrate the end of 2020 and donate $ 20.20 to Messy Church USA. Your donation will help us keep our website attractive and user friendly. Your support makes it possible to offer relevant monthly webinars in 2021. Your donation helps us provide encouragement and coaching to Messy Churches getting started as well as those who may be a little stuck.
We celebrate that Messy Church is making a difference in many lives even in the midst of a pandemic. As you consider your Christmas gifts this year, we ask you to consider giving a tax deductible gift to Messy Church USA. Your donation will give us the resources we need to share the love of Christ through Messy Church today and in the years to come.
Thank you for your support!
Advent Prayer
God of hope, who brought love into this world,
be the love that dwells between us.
God of hope, who brought peace into this world,
be the peace that dwells between us.
God of hope, who brought joy into this world,
be the joy that dwells between us.
God of hope, the rock we stand upon,
be the center, the focus of our lives
always, and particularly this Advent time.
