Welcome and Gratitude

Welcome our new Communications Director

Messy Church USA is excited to announce the appointment of Emalee Sugano as our new Communications Director. She officially started on April 15, 2025. Emalee brings a dynamic blend of creativity, strategic insight, and a passion for faith-based storytelling that aligns beautifully with the mission and values of Messy Church.

Emalee brings her expertise in Marketing and Content Creation and has a number of clients in her professional role.  In addition, she is a passionate leader (and parent) at her local Messy Church in Huntington Beach, California where she does communication for both the Church and Church preschool.  She is leading our Messy Church USA team in the transition to a integrated network platform that connects our communication, membership network and sales.

We are thrilled to have Emalee join our team and are looking forward to how her heart for Messy Church and innovative communication will help us to grow deeper and wider as a movement.

Please join us in welcoming Emalee to the Messy Church USA family! You can reach her at Emalee@messychurchusa.org. Be on the lookout for exciting updates and storytelling in the months ahead.

Thank you Robin!

As we welcome new leadership in communications, we also want to take a moment to extend our heartfelt thanks to Robin Cannon for her dedicated service as Social Media Consultant for Messy Church USA.  She has been our first an only communications leader since our beginning!

Robin has played a vital role in growing our online presence, sharing meaningful stories, and creatively engaging our community across platforms. Her thoughtful, behind-the-scenes work has helped keep the spirit of Messy Church alive and visible—especially during times when digital connection was more important than ever.

She led a team to brainstorm and then create the wonderful visuals that brought joy to the Celebrate the Mess Conference in Chicago last April.  We are deeply grateful for her contributions, her heart for ministry, and her commitment to the Messy Church movement. Thank you, Robin, for the time, talent, and passion you have poured into this role! We wish you all the best as you go back to working  just one full time position! As an ambassador for Messy Church USA, you can continue to reach Robin to say thanks at Robin@messychurchusa.org.
