What’s On My Desk: September

Welcome

Hello Messy Friends,

September is here! Just as summer is beginning to shift toward fall, Messy Church USA is also stepping into a new season of exciting change and growth.

I’m thrilled (and a little humbled!) to be starting my first week as Executive Director. Thankfully, I’m not stepping into this season alone — our wonderful Founding Director, Roberta Egli, will continue walking alongside us for the next few months as she helps prepare the way for her retirement. We are deeply grateful for her leadership, her vision, and her heart for Messy Church.

But that’s not the only new thing happening!

🌟 Membership Update

We’ve just launched a new membership structure that makes it easier — and more affordable — for Messy Churches to connect. Membership brings great benefits, including new discounts. Not sure why registration matters? Here are the Top 5 Reasons to Register Your Messy Church:

  1. It’s the only legal way to use the Messy Church name and logo in the U.S.
  2. You’ll be connected to the wider Messy Church movement—nationally and internationally.
  3. You gain access to training, events, coaching, and shared resources.
  4. You’ll have visibility in our directory so families can find you, plus support from other leaders.
  5. You’ll share in a common identity and mission as we spread the love of Jesus through this unique, all-ages ministry.

🌟 Website Refresh

We’re also putting the finishing touches on an updated website—coming soon! With the new look, you’ll begin seeing fresh Messy Church sessions posted regularly. Stay tuned! (Please note, we’ve had a few glitches this week as that new website has launched…thank you so much for your patience!)

🌟 Training Reminder

Finally, if you or someone you know is considering launching a Messy Church, this is the last week to register for our September Get Started with Messy Church training. Don’t miss the chance to get equipped and inspired for this joyful ministry.

As the leaves begin to turn, I’m excited for all the ways Messy Church will continue to grow and flourish in this next season. I’m so glad we get to do this together. With gratitude and hope,
– Johannah
